Dear Friends of COB:

It is with great regret that I inform you that we must cancel our concert “Our Sacred Earth,” which was scheduled for May 16th.  I’m sure this doesn’t come as a surprise to you, as across the country, arts groups are taking measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and cancelling their events.

Ever the optimist, I was hoping that things might return to normal by mid-May, but unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the case. I was especially looking forward to sharing “Among the Trees” by Steve Laven that was written for the COB and features his wife Cynthia Meyers on alto flute, along with Charles Dimmick on violin and Steve himself on cello. We will look forward to sharing this evocative new piece with you sometime in the future.

If you are a season subscriber or purchased tickets for May 16, there are several options available to you. We sincerely hope you will consider donating the value of your tickets as a tax-deductible gift and would most grateful if you are able to do that. Your support will greatly help the orchestra during this unprecedented time.  A receipt acknowledging your gift will be emailed to you, if you choose this option. Alternatively, you may use your tickets as a credit towards future ticket purchases. If neither of these options are right for you, you may request a refund. Please let us know which of these options works best for you.

I don’t think any of us will ever again take for granted the privilege and special joy of gathering to share live music together. I look forward to the day when we can all do that.

Until then, stay healthy, stay safe and stay in touch.

All my best,

David Feltner
Music Director
